An integral part of the rhythm of selecting students is to do so with a perceived random element. This is most effective when a group (a pair or more), discusses a concept that requires one person to feedback – the random element is declared before the discussion starts.

A great randomiser can be found at classtools.net. These exist for me on my desktop for each class.

The one aspect of these that can be a little overwhelming is the midi-cheer sound FX.
