Managing Classroom Talk

Talking is (ideally!) thinking. Managing whole-class talk with its specific nuance and rhythms is perhaps the greatest of skill of any literature teacher. As whole-class talk can imbue learning with social and emotional significance, expert and responsive management of such talking is fundamental to any teacher. 

Here I will demonstrate methods of managing such talk and questioning, linking hopefully to established theory and providing video exemplars.
